LONG STORY SHORT…
You’ve nothing to worry about. There are only a few ways we request information from you.
A little more info on these:
Our website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits our website traffic to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We simply use Google Analytics for their reports, which tell us simple things like how many people are using our website, what pages are being visited, what type of devices the website is being used on. This helps us to better understand our audience, how people use our website - enabling us to improve the website structure and type of content we publish. You can view Google’s policies here.
Newsletter - In certain parts of our website (niexplorer.com) you’ll see us asking for if you wish to receive our newsletter, and if so, to enter your email address, town/city and country. The content in these newsletters will be as relevant and useful as the content you actively browse through on our website. For example: local tourism news concerning Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland; public events; adventure activities; road trip ideas; outdoor locations to see; ideas on places to eat, drink and sleep. This is not a full list, but gives you an idea that the content will be relevant. At times, there may also be content included in our emails from other parties we work with. Again, we’ve selected these parties because they are relevant to the content you are familiar with on our website. Your email address, town/city and country will not be given to them - they are simply having their content included in our newsletter.
We use Mailchimp to send these newsletters, so your email address is saved in a distribution list on their systems. You can view their terms here. You will always find an ‘unsubscribe’ button in all of our emails, if you wish to have your email address and location details removed from our records and Mailchimp’s.
Your location details are only requested for when we have communications relevant to a certain location; therefore improving the relevance of the content you receive.
OK, you’ve made it this far - here’s a photo of Max The Adventure Dog as a reward, before you read on…
