BALLINTOY STORM

Another week, another storm.

Needing a road trip fix - but avoiding anywhere a falling tree might ‘boop’ us on the head - we made a dash to the north coast in the hope we’d see some big waves.

And that we did.

After finding a nice safe parking place* at Ballintoy Harbour…

(*Not actually a parking space - we only drove the Jeep to the front of the cave for the pic and straight back out. When you see the amount of loose boulders lying on the ground, having fallen from above, you know not to hang around).

…we sat at the harbour for a bit, in awe at the might scenes unfolding in front.

A big splash of colour for a few tourists (or local snappers) 🌈💦

We stayed at a sensible distance ourselves - no way were we messing with the power of the sea on a day like this.

We eventually left the harbour spectacle and went for walk along the coast….

…and in no time the force of strength was visible again, on the affectionately named ‘Elephant Rock’.

Wow!
